Background

Dr Michele Zadra is a Research Fellow in Global Hydrogen Systems and Society with a PhD in Political Science from the University of Southampton. His doctoral research investigated institutional drivers and barriers to the political participation of EU migrants in post-Brexit England. He also worked in the international research project JUSTDECARB, co-authoring a paper on the public effects of climate assemblies.

Currently, he works within the Centre for Energy Systems and Strategy at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, focusing on the governance of complex socio-technological systems. His research investigates the effects of politics and policies on climate change and net-zero objectives. As part of the HyPT project, he is developing an inclusive and democratic net-zero hydrogen governance framework through the comparative analysis of four jurisdictions: Australia, Canada, the UK, and the USA.

Seeking PhD students for research projects on climate justice, energy justice, citizen engagement in energy transition, citizen engagement in climate change policymaking, comparative national energy governance, and the role of local authorities in energy transition.
