Contact Dr Adeel Muhammad

Background

Adeel earned his PhD in Science and Technology of Bio- and Nanomaterials from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy, where he developed electrochemical biosensors for detecting small molecules, including glucose and the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, and explored smart nanomaterials for drug delivery and therapeutic applications. He previously worked as a Research Assistant at Dongguk University, South Korea, focusing on nanomaterials for biosensors, supercapacitors, and solar cells.

After his PhD, Adeel joined the Güder Research Group at Imperial College London as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the UKRI-funded Cure4Aqua project, developing NFC-powered electrochemical systems with qPCR integration for fish disease monitoring and biosensor-embedded sutures for wound healing. He is currently a Research Fellow at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, where he works on a NERC-funded project to develop origami paper-based eDNA sensors for real-time surveillance of freshwater invasive species.
